Datacolor has announced the release of their SpyderX color calibration tool. It features a redesigned color engine with “increased color accuracy and low light capabilities,” and can work significantly faster, with a full calibration taking less than two minutes.

Back in November, Flickr announced that they will delete images from free accounts that have over 1,000 images. USA Today reports that he deadline for this has just been extended until 12 March, due to “feedback from our members and complications some members experienced when downloading photos.” Flickr, now owned by Smugmug is offering an unlimited Pro account for $50/year or “simple tools” that allow users to download any of their content from the Flickr platform.

Wetpixel Editor Adam Hanlon offers an opinion on an image that was recently shared on the wonderful Wetpixel Facebook Group. The image shows a boxer crab (Lybia tessellata) beautifully lit with a snoot as it stood in the open (a clearing) on a blue Linkia sp. sea star.
