Our friends at Behind the Mask have released their amazing short film “Narcissus.” Julie Gautier describes the film as “a beautiful cinematic illusion and a contemporary interpretation of a classic myth about how ego is leading humanity to drown in its own image.” In it, she interprets the Greek myth of Narcissus by performing upside down in y-40 on breath-hold.
The Endurance22 Expedition has located Sir Ernest Shackleton’s ship, Endurance, and produced some haunting video footage of her amazingly intact wreck. She lies at 3,000 meters (9850 feet) in the Weddell Sea. The footage was captured by an autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV).

Congratulation to the cast and crew of the Netflix documentary “My Octopus Teacher,” which has been awarded the Oscar for Best Documentary at the 2021 Academy Awards. The film documents the relationship between an octopus and diver and filmmaker Craig Foster in the kelp forests around Cape Town.

Blackmagic Design is shipping the Pocket Cinema Camera 6K Pro. It has a 1,500 nit HDR screen, built-in ND filters, a larger battery, and support for an optional electronic viewfinder. Sony started shipping the long-awaited a7S Mark III mirrorless camera earlier this year. It has been much hyped for its low light performance, so Wetpixel arranged to get a camera to Natalie Gibb of Under the Jungle along with a Nauticam WACP-1 to shoot in Mexico’s beautiful caves and cenotes.
