After divers off the north coast of Scotland tried unsuccessfully to free a Scottish grey seal from tangled fishing line, rescuers from the Hillswick Wildlife Sanctuary arrived on the scene, caught the seal, and cut it free. Although the seal appears to dangle by its neck in the video, the rescuers saw the seal surface several feet away from the boat and swim away unharmed.

Members of the Hillswick Wildlife Sanctuary say that this was not the first grey seal they’ve encountered tangled in fishing line, unfortunately an occurrence that happens in waters all around the world.
